Just a few things to tell you about. I would normally include these on my Friday Five Faves, but I’m going to be doing a special Christmas Wish List edition for each Friday Five Faves post during December! Make sure to check back tomorrow (and the next few Fridays) for some stuff on my wish list and for ideas to add to your own.
Anyways, I do have a few lovely finds to tell y’all about…
#1 I tried hot yoga for the first time while we were in Sarasota and am hooked! This was actually by accident as I was just trying to find any nearby yoga studio while we were there so I could take a few classes. I’ve been doing yoga for several years now, but have never tried hot. I’m normally not much for exercise “trends” which is probably why I’ve never given it a chance, but oh my gosh, I left that 1st class feeling ahhhhh-mazing. In Sarasota? Check out Body Heat. In B’ham? Check out The Yoga Circle.
#2 I never told y’all about Breaking Dawn! Cassie and I saw it opening weekend and it was SO GOOD! Definitely the best installment yet. I seriously wanted to immediately watch it again. There were a couple of cheesy parts, but the good parts far outweighed the cheese. The wedding scene was beautiful, and the honeymoon, ummm yeah, all kinds of hotness. The end is a little gory, but if you read the books, it’s as expected.
#3 One of the best parts about Breaking Dawn were the previews beforehand! We saw a preview for the Hunger Games, which made me finally cave in and download the 1st book in the series. Lord knows I just cannot see a movie without reading the book first. So I started it the other night and would really just like to stay up all night and read. It’s good. Like, really good.
#4 A couple other good books I have finished recently are A Thousand Splendid Suns (this has been out for a few years, but I never read it), and The Mill River Recluse (only $1 to download on my Kindle!). These were both very good reads. A Thousand Splendid Suns is definitely a more serious read as it follows the lives of a couple women in Afghanistan in the 90s, but it is a wonderful and captivating story. The Mill River Recluse is much lighter and a very easy read. I recommend both.
#5 Are you listening to Christmas music yet? I’m probably driving Matt batty with the extent of holly-jolly-music-playing going on in the house and car, but I just love it 🙂 I like to buy a new Christmas album each year, but am unsure of which one to get. Any suggestions? I’ll also leave you with my current favorite Christmas song and video by Hillsong. Just try and not get in to the Christmas spirit after this…
Ok that’s all. Happy Thursday and Happy 1st of December!
