A few scenes from our Thanksgiving weekend

We had a really cozy and relatively quiet Thanksgiving this year, which was just lovely in my opinion. We hosted Matt’s parents and my brother here in the Ham, so six people total at the Thanksgiving table (including little man). This is a perfect number because there are usually six seats at the dining room table and it means I do not have to put the leaf in the table, which is kind of a pain. It also means I didn’t have to make ridiculously large quantities of food that require special (non-matching) serving pieces and I could use my pretty (matching) serving pieces. I’ve also managed to break several of my holiday dishes over the years and I currently only have six dinner plates. As you can see, six is kind of my sweet spot. This isn’t to say I will turn you away if you make guest seven, eight or nine, but you may not have a matching dinner plate. And you’re in charge of putting the leaf in the table;-)

Anyways. We ate, laughed, watched football, shopped, played with the always entertaining #toddlerAW and ate some more. After everyone left on Saturday, Matt and I got busy putting away Thanksgiving and decorating for Christmas. I love Thanksgiving, but I’m always a little giddy when it’s over so I can really start prepping for Christmas. I will post some pictures of our festive house later this week (including the most ridiculously large Griswold-esque Christmas tree you’ve seen), but for now, here are some scenes from this past weekend…

Nanny bought these Jake and the Neverland Pirate pj's for AW and he pretty much thinks they are the best thing ever. He keeps pointing to his belly, saying "Jake!"

Also, this empty box brought him a good hour of entertainment. "Where's Asher Wade...."

This was at Cracker Barrel after church Sunday morning. Just chillin' in his booster seat. This child. Such a mess.
