Weekend Getaway {Chattanooga}

Meant to post a few pictures from our little overnight trip to Chattanooga this past weekend.  Chattanooga is just a short 2-hour drive northeast of Birmingham, but it feels like you are really “getting away.”  With Lookout Mountain and the Tennessee River right there, not to mention all the parks, it’s a great outdoorsy getaway…lots of pretty scenery and stuff to do.  It was actually a last minute decision for us to go, and when you have a 2 year old, last minute trips are not usually the best idea, but sometimes you just have to get out of town and hope for the best.  And you know what, it was totally fun and easy!  I see more spur of the moment road trips in our future.  Asher Wade behaved and I think he really enjoyed himself.  I’m sure he enjoyed the change in pace and scenery as much as we did.  He’s totally getting into the magic that is a hotel stay.  I remember being obsessed with staying in hotels when I was little.  I swear my parents could just take us down the road to the Holiday Inn and I would have thought it was the best thing ever.  Asher Wade was so excited when we got to our room.  So excited that he stayed up wayyyy past his bedtime AND woke up at 7 a.m. (EST, which is technically 6 a.m. B’ham time…insert a vision of me basically pouring coffee into my eyeballs).  Oh to be a child again….

Anyways, it was a fun trip with my little family, and I am so thankful for any sort of time we get to spend together.  It’s a blessing for sure.
