A little bit of a struggle this week, but I made it. The weather was wonky…cold in the mornings, warm in the afternoons, sunny, then pouring rain. It was all over the place. I spilled coffee on my originally planned shirt Monday morning, and had to make a quick change before leaving the house. Thursday I woke up late and then realized I hadn’t picked out my outfit the night before like I usually (have to) do and basically just had to throw something together. Today I’m only working a few hours and then running errands until I pick my parents up at the airport, but I had a meeting this morning, so I had to look presentable for that one hour, but still be comfortable for the errand running. #firstworldproblems, I know.
But anyways, there were a couple of outfits that I really liked this week, starting with my improvised, post-coffee-incident one from Monday…
Like I said, I threw on this top on at the last minute after I spilled coffee on my beige blouse, but I actually think I like this color combo better anyways. This top is made of the softest material and it drapes really nicely AND covers my rear. I picked it up from Banana Republic last fall. Cream wool trousers are from Banana Republic as well, as is my pendant necklace (bought the same time as the top). Nude heels are Jessica Simpson from Belk.
I love this color combo! I tend to always pair army/olive green with khaki, although I don’t wear a lot of green in the first place, but I love it with the navy. This would be a great outfit for the fall as well. These leggings are the bomb. They are really thick and the rise is a little higher than normal. They hit right at my ankle, so the perfect length and I didn’t even have to hem them. The brand is Crown and Ivy from Belk and I have three pairs in different colors (navy, black and tan). Green tunic is from Blue Door Boutique. Boots are Tommy Hilfiger from Belk. Necklace is from Target.
Oh, red, white and blue…my favorite color combination. I love wearing these colors, and decorating with them (Asher Wade’s room is red, white and blue, and so is the playroom. We also have a navy house with white trim and red rocking chairs sitting on the front porch, so there’s that). This tunic and the red jeans are actually new, so I kind of cheated as far as using items I already have in my closet, but I styled this outfit after I had already bought the clothes, so technically I used items “already in my closet” even if they had only been there for a few days;) I’ve been wanting red jeans for awhile now, but I didn’t want to spend a ton of money without knowing how much I would actually wear them. I got these on sale from Belk for like $20 a couple weeks ago. Brand is New Directions I think. Chambray tunic is Crown and Ivy, also from Belk, and it is so soft and I know I will have this on repeat all spring. Scarf is from Gap. Not pictured are my gold Tory Burch flats.
Here’s from the aforementioned crazy Thursday. I even forgot to take my picture that morning in the full length mirror at work (I really need to get one for the house), so I snapped a quick shot when I got home, a/k/a before I take off my bra and put on my sweats (can I get an amen from the other ladies out there?). Dress is from Old Navy and I have discussed this style before because I have like 5 of them in different colors and prints…so comfy. Shoes I recently snagged from Tory Burch during their Private Sale. Necklace is from Ann Taylor Loft.
This was my comfy errand-running-while-still-work-appropriate outfit. I know you’re shocked it consisted of…wait for it…leggings and a tunic. My go-to. Tunic is Sophie Max from Belk, leggings are my favorite “Everyday Leggings” from J Crew, boots are the “Paige” style by Frye, and my dangly gold leaf earrings are from Target.
Happy Fri-yay! This little guy sure loves “Donut Friday!”
