Pinterest vs. Me {Week 7}

{I love typing these posts because it’s always a reminder that it’s Friday!! Not that I need a reminder, but it’s just always a nice confirmation that I did in fact make it through another week in one piece.}

This was an outfit I wore over the weekend, to the Hillsong concert.  I actually bought this silk tunic off Zulily a couple years ago for family pictures (glance over to the right of this page to see).  I’m not sure it has made an appearance since then, although I really like it.  Orange is normally not a color I would pick.  My high school colors were orange and black and since I was a cheerleader, I wore A LOT of orange and black A LOT of the time, and ever since then I’ve tended to steer clear.  However, I remember I wanted our family to dress in orange and navy for those family pictures, so I bought this.  It’s actually a pretty shade of orange and works well with my skin tone.  I love the gold buttons on it as well, and the tie belt.  Jeans are the “Toothpick” style from J.Crew.  Boots are Tommy Hilfiger from Belk.  Gold necklace and matching earrings are from Belk.e9d3d6f9-4c5f-4576-a82c-fa6a4ed499d6

Another outfit from this past weekend.  I pinned the pic several months ago, knowing it would be more of a spring outfit.  The lighting is horrible in my picture, but the top is tan and white striped.  I should have taken a pic of the back because it’s partly open-back and really cute.  I bought this from White House Black Market a couple springs ago.  White skinny jeans are the “Angel” style by DL 1961 from Nordstrom.  Tan wedges are Tory Burch.  Necklace is from LOFT.

Monday was not a Pinterest inspired look, but I loved it so much I thought I’d still share.  I snagged this tunic from Blue Door Boutique this past winter and it’s one of my favorites.  I love the peek-a-boo of leopard print and the pretty maroon color.  I prefer it with black leggings, but I was thinking it would also look cute with white jeans.  Maybe I’ll try that next time.  Leggings are also Blue Door Boutique.  Black wedges are Tory Burch.  My necklace is an old staple from Belk.

Black and white for the win again!  I never tire of this combination.  I also never tire of black leggings given that I wear a pair at least twice a week.  It ended up being a little cooler than I had thought that day, so I had to grab the cardigan at the last minute, but it still works.  My M.I.L. bought me this top, and I think it’s from a little boutique in their hometown.  Cardigan is from White House Black Market.  Leggings are really more of a skinny pant and they are Crown and Ivy from Belk.  Heels are Marc Fisher from Belk.  Also, I look very tired in this picture, right??  I can’t remember why I was so tired that morning.  Probably because we were binge watching House of Cards way past our bedtime…

I’ve been drawn to olive green lately, which actually seems to be popular color for the season.  I tend to pair it with denim, but I really like the cream and olive green combo here.  The Pinterest pic showed cream pants with brown riding boots, but I’ve hardly been able to enjoy my pedicure thanks to the chilly temps, and I was determined to today.  Sleeveless tunic and cream jeans are from Blue Door Boutique (shocker). Cream cardigan is from Belk, but I can’t remember the brand and I cut the tag out. My chunky brown heels are Born from Belk.  Oh, and my pretty necklace is handmade by a sweet friend here in Chattanooga.  Check out Caroline Banks Jewelry to see more of her gorgeous pieces.

I liked this tunic so much that I decided to wear it again later in the week.  I usually try to get two wears out of dry clean only pieces anyways;)  I’ve only ever worn this with jeans, but I love how the white jeans totally change up the look and make it more springy.  Add the cute wedge sandal, and this is a perfect springtime outfit.  Like I mentioned above, I bought this tunic off Zulily a couple of years ago.  White jeans are from Vineyard Vines.  Tan wedges are Tory Burch, but I’d kill for those cute wedges in the Pinterest pic!

Happy Friday y’all!  Me and this handsome little dude will be spending lots of QT together while daddy is at a church men’s conference this weekend.  I see lots of movies, ice cream and trips to Target in our future. Obviously we already got started on the ice cream part last night:-)
