Motivation Monday

Trying to offer some motivation here, but man, I need it myself. Bad. I’m a first class passenger on the struggle bus right now. Last week was a doozy at work. I went in knowing it would be, which probably helped keep my expectations in check, but I’m also glad it’s over. It’s amazing I was able to fit in any exercise at all. I had to get creative as far as timing, but I managed to fit something in most days. Then I started feeling sick towards the end of the week and had to give my body a break. I tried going to Orangetheory on Saturday, and while I made it through the whole class, it was a struggle and I only gave 50% of my usual effort. Honestly, working out usually makes me feel better and unless I have the flu or something more serious than a cold or sinus infection, I still exercise. I thought moving my body and getting some endorphins pumping would help like it normally does, but that was not the case this time. By Sunday I was really feeling bad and basically just rotated between the bed and couch all day. I’m hoping it’s just a nasty cold, but am starting to wonder if I don’t have bronchitis or something. I always seem to get sick right around this time every year. Just hoping I’m feeling better by next week when the Christmas stuff really starts to kick in.

Stats from this past week:

Monday 12/5: Ran 4 progressive miles (5.8-6.4 mph) on the treadmill

Tuesday 12/6: Ran 3 miles (6.0 mph) on the treadmill

Wednesday 12/7: Ran 4 miles outside along the river

Thursday 12/8: 60 minute Orangetheory Fitness class

Friday 12/9: This is when I started feeling bad, so I just rested my body today

Saturday 12/10: Barely made it through my 60 minute Orangetheory Fitness class….NOT a good idea

Sunday 12/11: Laid on the couch 90% of the day, other than taking the dogs for a few laps around the block
