Motivation Monday

Even though I kept track of my workouts the week before last, apparently I forgot to post them. I’ve been hitting up classes at Orangetheory Fitness more than normal, which I’ve definitely enjoyed. I can’t wait till the new studio opens downtown (right now it’s a 20 minute drive) and I can start going at lunch time more consistently. Matt actually joined this month and it’s been fun meeting him there once or twice a week. I’ve also been able to get outside to exercise a few times over the past couple of weeks thanks to some unseasonably warm days. It’s literally felt like spring, and I’ve loved it. Unfortunately we are back to winter weather this week and next, but I enjoyed the little tease while we had it. I’m contemplating signing up for a spring half marathon…emphasis on the contemplating. I definitely need someone to run with me because I get so bored, but I haven’t been successful in recruiting anyone yet. Maybe I can get Matt to slow his pace by like 2 minutes and run with me;)

Stats from two weeks ago:

Monday: 60 minute Orangetheory Fitness class

Tuesday: 35 minute run outside with my running buddy

Wednesday: 60 minute Orangetheory Fitness class

Thursday: Ran for 45 minutes on the treadmill (5.4-5.6 mph) with some varying incline

Friday: 60 minute Orangetheory Fitness class

Saturday: 35 minute power walk around the neighborhood

Sunday: 90 minute power walk along the river…it was GORGEOUS out today!

Stats from this past week:

Monday: 60 minute Orangetheory Fitness class

Tuesday: 30 minute Step class, 15 minute run on the treadmill (5.5 mph) and 15 minutes of upper body exercises using free weights

Wednesday: 60 minute walk outside along the river because it was sunny and warm:)

Thursday: Had a meeting, but I squeezed in a 30 minute run on the treadmill (5.5 mph) with some varying incline

Friday: 60 minute Orangetheory Fitness class

Saturday: Tried something new today! A couple of friends were trying out Kyle House Fitness this morning, which is a new boutique type gym in town. It was actually pretty similar to Orangetheory, except they don’t utilize rowers and I thought it was less intense than OTF. They incorporated a lot more stretching and some yoga. It was fun for a change, but I’m still partial to OTF.

Sunday: I worked out pretty hard the past couple of weeks, so I decided to take a complete rest day today. After church and lunch I even went and got myself a pedicure and pretty much just relaxed the remainder of the day.

Also, random, but I tried a Square Organics protein bar this morning and it was pretty tasty. It’s vegan and the ingredients list is really clean, with no artificial anything. My beloved Quest bars have been upsetting my stomach, and I’m not sure if it’s the dairy (whey) or sugar alcohols, but I’ve had to give them a break. I switched back to Clif bars (these were my go-to several years ago), but they are so dang high in sugar and carbs. After reading the labels of what felt like 20 different bars at Whole Foods the other day, I settled on a few of these in different flavors, along with a couple of the Perfect 10 bars, which I still need to try. I think I’ll order another box of the Rx Bars that I ate while doing Whole 30. Even though they aren’t my favorite texture, they easily have the cleanest ingredients list. Anything else I should try??
