Life Lately {spoiler alert…we added a tiny human}

No, I am not on record as having the longest pregnancy on the face of the planet (even though it kind of felt like it).  Yes, I just took an unintentional (or intentional?) break from blogging.  I really don’t know why other than I just got tired whining about being pregnant, and then I was consumed with a newborn, so you know, blogging just took a backseat.  But guess what???

8 lbs, 6 oz and 20 inches long

Y’all.  This little baby has been the sweetest,  happiest, loveliest, most perfect addition to our crew.  As hard as it was to imagine another little one joining our family, it’s now even harder to imagine our family without him.  He was the missing puzzle piece that we didn’t even know we were missing.  God blessed us for sure and knew exactly what we needed when He gave us our precious Archie.

As difficult as my pregnancy was towards the end, my labor and delivery could not have gone smoother.  Granted I was walking around 5 cm dilated for several weeks;)  Once it was go-time, he was out in just a few pushes.  Recovery was a breeze for the most part as well.  And then of course I got our happy little Archie, so I guess the hard pregnancy was redeemed.

He’s pretty much the exact opposite of Asher Wade as a baby.  If you know us personally, or if you’ve followed this blog for awhile, you know that AW was not exactly the easiest baby, lol.  Just read some posts between April and August of 2013 and you’ll see what I’m talking about.  When people comment about how good of a baby Archie is, I’m like, “Hey, we earned this baby!”  Don’t get me wrong, he has his moments, but for the most part he’s happy and smiley and just an overall joy.

It’s hard to believe he’s been with us for 3+ months already!  Fastest 3 months ever.  We’ve adjusted pretty well as a family of 4.  It honestly wasn’t hard as I had expected, or as others had made it out to be.  Matt and I have gotten pretty good at tag teaming and thankfully Asher Wade is pretty independent and can take care of a lot of things himself. He’s been a huge help as far as entertaining himself when I am dealing with Archie, and he’s always willing to grab me a diaper or even keep an eye on Archie while I run to the bathroom or something.  He’s such a GREAT big brother and absolutely adores his baby brother and is always talking to and singing to him, kissing his head and telling us how much he loves him.  I really didn’t know what to expect as far as how AW would react and adapt, but it’s been such a sweet experience watching them together.  I can’t wait to see how their relationship grows.  Brothers and friends for life.

I will post another blog soon with recent pics and an update on our little guy.  Lord knows Asher Wade has had hundreds of posts all about him, so I’m going to have to get better about doing some Archie posts!
